New 2018 Hops at Buck Creek Hops
As our hops farm grows, so do the number of hop varieties we have for sale. We’re proud to announce our 2018 hops include 5 new varieties! We’re excited to be able to offer you more variety than ever before.
New 2018 Hops Varieties
Columbus
Columbus, a dual-purpose cultivar, is one of our more pungent varieties. Its higher oil content, 2.3 mL/100g, helps it provide a strong “dank” aroma with an aroma profile of citrus, earthy, and spicy flavors.
Crystal
The first thing you’ll notice about Crystal is its earthy profile. With woody and floral aromas – and just a hint of spice – Crystal is definitely a fan favorite.
Michigan Cooper
Michigan Cooper is a newer hop, released by Great Lakes Hops in just 2015. It has a tropical fruit-forward profile and is perfect for hop forward brews.
Mt. Hood
Mt. Hood hops hail from Oregon – the same state as their namesake. The aroma-type cultivar has a spicy and herbal aroma profile.
Tahoma
Another younger hop, Tahoma was released in 2013. Tahoma traditionally boasts a predominantly citrus aroma. However, our Iowa soils and climate bring forward earthy and woody undertones, making it a truly unique aroma addition.
